The Bronx Zoo
The Bronx Zoo is a zoo located in Bronx Park, Bronx, New York City. It is one of the largest zoos in the United States in terms of area. It is 265 acres (107 ha) of parks and naturalistic habitats separated by the Bronx River. The zoo averages 2.15 million visitors each year in 2009. The zoo opened on November 8, 1899 with 843 animals in 22 extraordinary exhibits. The first director was William Temple Hornaday, who served as director for 30 years. I like going to the zoo to see an environment that I have never visited. I learned that there are a lot of wild animals in this environment. I really like animals.
