Scholarship eligibility:
The
current scholarship will be granted to the first twenty (20) complete
applications. This means students that have paid the application fee, document
processing fee, I-20 FedEx courier, and sent the application form, statement of
financial support, and bank statement.
A
very important supporting document will be a cover letter. In it, the student
should describe supported academic reasons about why the applicant deserves the
scholarship and explains how this will help in his/her professional
development. The applicant should also describe how the student would cover the
rest of the expenses. The applicant should also explain how this scholarship
would help when returning to Peru. Supporting documents will help with the
application. Do not include family or financial reasons.
If
the winning applicant cannot take the current scholarship, this cannot be
reserved for another term, and it will be granted to the following candidate
who placed as finalist.
Additionally,
the students who get the scholarship, accept to share all the ELI posts on their
own Facebook and Instagram during the period of the program.
Financial requirements
for I-20
The
current scholarship only covers part of the academic fees of the English
program. The student should demonstrate enough financial funds to cover the
rest of the tuition fee and other expenses with a bank statement and the
Statement of Financial Support.
The
student should support with a bank statement the following amounts:

6
|
5,269.00
|

|

|
The
expenses can be supported with a bank statement, either from personal funds or
from a financial sponsor. Bank or financial statements could be submitted in
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French or with an English translated version.
This amount should cover the tuition fee and personal expenses during the program
(accommodations, meals, transportation, etc.). The financial sponsor can also
be the person who may provide room and board in the USA. In such case, other
documents will be requested.
The
bank statement should reflect the balance of the money to be used during the
program. The bank statement should be from a savings or checking account, not
from a credit card statement. The bank statement cannot be more than 3-months
old when applying.
Once
these documents have been revised by ELI, the institution will issue the I-20,
which will be necessary for the student visa process.
