The
English Language Institute (ELI) at the College of Staten Island/The City
University of New York (CUNY) will celebrate ELI Culture Week between May 5 and
May 7 with presentations from different countries. ELI participating students
are from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and Vietnam. ELI will organize
its ELI Culture Week broadcasting live presentations during this week on its Facebook
page: EnglishinNewYork.
Students
will prepare their work during their Intensive English Program where they are
currently learning English as a Second Language. ELI teachers, Erika Anderson and
Sean Jacobsen, will lead the groups teaching how to give a speech, how to speak
in public, and how to use the language accordingly for this type of
presentations.
ELI Culture Week has been one of the
most important activities during the semesters on campus. However, students
will now have the opportunity to present for a broader audience when they go
live on Facebook. Having the ELI Culture Week will be a great opportunity to
show what our students do during the online English program and how much they
have learned. The English Language Institute at CSI looks
forward to having a great audience during this event.
