When you "have second thoughts" about something, you reconsider it.

Example: "After meeting the teacher, Daniel had second thoughts about taking the class."

When you "follow suit," you do the same thing another person does; you follow their example.

Example: After Luna's older brother jumped off the swing, she followed suit.

When you "cut someone some slack," you are not very critical or harsh towards them.

Example: After Luna yelled at Mark for forgetting their date, Jackson told her to cut Mark some slack because Mark had a very tough week.

When something goes "down the hatch," you eat it or drink it.

Example: "Down the hatch," exclaimed Jerry before taking his medicine.

When something is "water under the bridge," it is in the past.
